NOKIA’s Comeback – what can we expect?
Whew lad, I am actually grateful to hear that Nokia’s comeback will be in 2017 and it looks quite promising.
Although a specific date is not disclosed, Nokia claims to release two android smartphones in early 2017, so we can estimate the end of March would be a deadline for release.
Finnish company will make comeback with smartphones, a regular button phones (who still have some demand) and tablets. Nokia will increase choice and maybe bring real useful innovation. Whereas the well of creativity is quite dry for market leaders. Nokia Lumia was not a success that Microsoft expected it to be, therefore they are giving hints of abandoning it.
Operating system will be Android (7.0 onward) – which is awesome and it seems that Nokia will be a competitor. These phones will come in two variants whereas one will be cheaper version and other packed with more “horsepower” for extra buck. NPU leaked some specs on the first D1C models:
- 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 430 Processor
- Adreno 505 GPU
- 2 / 3 GB RAM
- Android Nougat 7.0
- 5 / 5.5-inch, 1080p display
- 16 GB internal storage
- 13 /16 MP Rear camera
- 8 MP FFC
It seems that Nokia is not rushing to go full on flagship mode and instead trying to get their feet wet and get back on a track. Most smartphone users see 4 GB of RAM as a standard in 2016 and 3 GB of RAM does not make an impression. There is no actual price leaked yet, but some people estimate that it will not hurt people’s wallet that much and will be around $250 for the higher end version. Obviously, this is just a speculation and the real digits will be revealed shortly.
I am really positive about Nokia phones as they still carry reliability and premium feel in their brand. I hope they will come back with a smash and their signature feel.
